Dwayne Douglas ‘The Rock’ Johnson is an actor, producer, and semi-retired professional wrestler. Prior to becoming a full-time actor in 2005, Johnson was a professional wrestler in WWE for eight years. Since he started acting, he has become one of the top-grossing and highest-paid actors in the world.
In 2014, the 3D action fantasy adventure film ‘Hercules’ was released with Dwayne Johnson in the title role, a role which had never been played by a non-white person. Hercules in the film is the son of Zeus and the leader of a band of mercenaries.
Johnson was nominated for the Choice Movie Star award at the Teens Choice Awards that year, and the box office reports showed massive patronage of the film despite the average reviews by critics.
