Femi Kuti was born in London and was raised in Lagos, Nigeria.  He is the eldest son of Afrobeats pioneer Fela Kuti. Femi’s career started when he began to play for his father’s band at the age of 15.

Femi’s younger brother, Seun Kuti was only 9 years old when he began to sing in his dad’s band. When his dad died in 1997, he became the leader of the band at the age of 14.
