Chinalurumogu Eze, a third-year student at the Department of Mass Communication, University of Nigeria (UNN), has emerged as one of the few global winners of the Future Creative Leader Academy (FCLA) Prize for the Roger Hatchuel Student Academy.

She is one of the 37 students shortlisted out of many participants at the preliminary stage worldwide. The selected students, from 29 countries, form the class of 2023, who will benefit from a fully immersive learning program that will help them discover the different avenues of the creative industry, expand their networking, and gain a global future-oriented perspective.

They underwent an intensive selection process that prepared them for nomination by partner organizations in different countries. “The students have undergone an intensive selection process, each having been nominated by our partner organization in their countries and have been chosen by our global selection panel,” Cannes Lions, the organizing body of the program, announced.

The Roger Hatchuel Student Academy program is for full-time students in their final year of studies between the ages of 18-23 years, who are interested in advertising and creative communication; fluent in the English language, and able to contribute to class discussions and group work in the English language.

The program offers participants the opportunity to unlock a greater understanding of each other, the world, the nature of the advertising and communications industry, and also explore the various avenues and creative spaces they could transition into after graduation from their schools.

Congratulatory messages are pouring in for Chinalurumogu Eze across social media platforms. The Labor Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 general election in Nigeria, Mr. Peter Obi, congratulated Chinalurumogu via his Twitter handle:

“My very warm congratulations to Chinalurumogu Eze for winning the 2023 Future Creative Leader Academy (FCLA) Prize for the Roger Hatchuel Student Academy. I urge @nalu-kings to go all out for victory as she represents Nigeria at the Roger Hatchel Student Academy (RHSA) in the Cannes Lions festival in France. May God Almighty who sees your goodness and hard work grant you success.”

Earlier in December 2022, Chinalurumogu competed with 23 other candidates in Nigeria to win the Youth Digest Campus Journalist of the Year Award, making her the second female student to win the coveted award since its inception in 2017.
