Six individuals have accused Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs of sexual assault in new lawsuits filed on Monday, October 14, 2024, in federal court in Manhattan. The accusers, who remain anonymous, include two women identified as Jane Does and four men referred to as John Does.
According to their lawyers, these six are part of a larger group of more than 100 alleged victims who plan to take legal action against Combs following his arrest last month on sex trafficking charges, as reported by The Associated Press.
One John Doe, from North Carolina, claims Combs fondled his genitals at one of the rapper’s famous white parties in the Hamptons in 1998 when he was just 16. The man alleges Combs coerced him by framing the act as a “rite of passage” into the music industry.
Previously, Combs had only faced civil lawsuits and a criminal indictment related to sexual activity with adults. His legal team has not yet responded to the new lawsuits. When these allegations were first announced in early October, Combs’ lawyer dismissed them as part of a “reckless media circus.”
54-year-old Diddy has pleaded not guilty to charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. The charges claim that he abused women for years, using a network of associates to silence victims through blackmail, violence, kidnapping, and physical assaults.
The rapper remains in custody after his arrest on September 16, 2024, with two judges ruling that his release would pose a danger to the community. Despite a proposed $50 million bail package, which included home detention and electronic monitoring, a judge denied his bail request over concerns about witness tampering and the ongoing investigation. An appeals court also rejected his immediate release.
In addition to the North Carolina John Doe’s account, other lawsuits include allegations of rape, forced oral sex, and drugging. One Jane Doe alleges that Combs raped her in a locked hotel room in 2004 after forcing her and her friend to snort cocaine.
The other Jane Doe accuses Combs of violently attacking and raping her in 2005 during a party for the late rapper Biggie Smalls’ music video “One More Chance.”
Further accusations come from a security guard who claims Combs drugged him and sexually assaulted him at a 2006 white party in the Hamptons.
Another lawsuit involves a man who alleges Combs forced him to perform oral sex in the stockroom of a Macy’s in Manhattan in 2008.
The final lawsuit details a 2021 incident where a man claims he was drugged and sexually assaulted by multiple men, including Combs, at a party.
Diddy’s trial is scheduled for May 5, 2025.
