6. Holy Trinity Cathedral
Better known by locals as “Kidist Selassie,” Holy Trinity Cathedral is the highest ranking Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo cathedral in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This cathedral is the second most important place of worship in Ethiopia, after the Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion in Axum.
Part of the massive complex is the Feats of God the Son Church, also known as the “Church of the Four Heavenly Creatures.” Holy Trinity Cathedral was established during the reign of Emperor Menelik II. It hosts the tombs of Emperor Haile Selassie I, Empress Menen Asfaw, and other members of the Imperial Family.
