A Florida woman, in what could be described as a crime of passion, allegedly plowed her Range Rover vehicle into her ex-boyfriend after she took issue with the victim having “multiple relationships” with her and a different woman.
According to Law & Crime, 19-year-old Yoshabelle Edouard plowed her Range Rover into Kervens S. Saintil, 20, after she allegedly egged the victim’s car and also threw ketchup and mustard on it.
During a meeting with Charlotte County sheriff’s deputies on January 31, Saintil said he was involved in “multiple relationships” with Edouard and a different female.
Prior to being hit, Saintil also recalled seeing his car soaked in eggs. “I see egg and I’m like no way, no way, not my car,” Saintil said in an interview with Fort Myers NBC affiliate WBBH.
Saintil said he and the other woman as well as some friends later noticed Edouard around his apartment premises and in her Range Rover. Police claim Edouard later plowed her vehicle into Saintil as the victim attempted to get out of harm’s way. The impact of the hit resulted in Saintil crashing his body into the car’s windshield and damaging it. Police said the victim sustained injuries on his arm, shoulder, and hip.
Saintil in the interview recalled his ex-lover “flying over the speed bumps” and driving to where he was positioned. “Before you know it, I’m seeing black and I’m on the floor,” he added. “My body literally flew in the air.”
The victim also confirmed the vehicle that struck him was a “Range Rover,” not a “sedan.” Saintil’s other lover also said that though Edouard was driving at a normal speed, she was moving the car “fast enough to try and hurt” the victim. Her claims were similar to what Saintil’s friends also said in the wake of the incident.
Edouard similarly spoke with detectives, and she informed them that she was in an “on again, off again sexual relationship” with Saintil. She claimed she got angry after noticing she had become a topic of a phone discussion between Saintil and his other lover, the affidavit stated.
Edouard claimed that as she was passing by in her Range Rover, Edouard was “full of energy” and he “jumped onto her vehicle.” She also claimed it wasn’t her intention to “stop or slow down.”
Edouard was ultimately arrested and charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, Law & Crime reported. She was later released from custody after posting bond, and her court date is set for March 10.
“This was definitely out of … hatred,” Saintil told WBBH. “Me and her didn’t work out in the past. I’m guessing she found out about [the] new girl.”
