Kenya

Kenya is among the world’s largest producers of geothermal energy. This is due to the country’s geographic position in the active volcanic rift zone known as the East African Rift.

The country produces about 630 megawatts but with the capacity to double this in a few years.

In fact, Kenya hopes it can produce 5GW of geothermal energy by the end of this decade.
