Liberia

In 1961, the Queen accepted a pair of Liberian pygmy hippos from President Tubman of Liberia. They are mini versions of their larger relatives. These hippopotamus grow between 4.9 and 5.7 feet. Queen Elizabeth’s pair was sent to the ZSL London Zoo.
