Old plain shirts
Things as simple as sewing on an embroidered pattern piece into an old plain shirt can make it look like a completely new one. This can be done by cutting out the desired design from another piece or creating one and sewing it on the shirt. For instance, a bow can be made from Ankara material and attached to the desired part of the shirt such as the breast pocket. Sewing on beads and buttons from other old clothes can also achieve this look. You can do this with skirts, bags and footwear such as sneakers.
The choice to tie up the ends or last few buttons of a shirt instead of buttoning down creates a crop top look. You can also fold up your full figure denim trousers to create the look of a three-quarter make. Folding up the sleeves of your shirts or wearing an oversized shirt or top as a short dress can also make a difference.
