Global warfare would compel Africans to take seriously, the challenge of security. In these times of cyber and nuclear threats, the stakes are much higher.

It might then be time for actual discussions that would yield concrete solutions for individual countries and the continent too. It is imaginable to see proposals for NATO-like organization for African security.

In truth, security is an aspect where any nation-combatant in a world war can subdue African countries.

Take, for instance, the US. That country’s defence budget from 2018 is about one-third of the entire African GDP in monetary terms from that same year.
