Gabon
Gabon comes in second in Africa with 55 points.
The country plunged into crisis after the disputed 2016 elections. As part of the crisis, the country’s parliament was burnt down.
Away from the political crisis, there has been increased non-confrontational crimes such as muggings and theft.
According to Amnesty International, there have been arbitrary arrests in Gabon between 2016 and 2017. The activities of the country’s teachers union were suspended due to “disturbance of public order” and some newspapers were shut down over a better part of 2017.
