LeBron James has been very outspoken about his childhood experiences in his native Akron, Ohio, and living in a single-parent household as an only child.

The four-time NBA champion recently made it known that he’s willing to do anything to ensure that he doesn’t go through that same experience as his wife, Savannah, made him know how “amazing” it was to have a companion.

James, 40, and Savannah, 39, were high-school sweethearts, and they’ve been married since 2013. The star couple share two sons [Bronny, 21, and Bryce, 18] and a daughter [Zhuri, 10].

During Tuesday’s episode of the Everybody’s Crazy podcast, James touched on his marriage to Savannah and why he was willing to go above and beyond to remain her husband. The podcast is co-hosted by his wife, Savannah, and LeBron touched on that topic during a conversation about relationships, the New York Post reported.

“I know I don’t want to be alone, that’s for damn sure. If I got to fight, crawl, scratch, bite, whatever to keep mine, I got to keep it,” the Los Angeles Lakers superstar said in the presence of Savannah.

“I have to do what I have to do. I don’t want to be alone. I’m an only child, single-parent household. I knew for sure. … when I got with ‘Vannah, I was like: ‘This s–t is crazy. This is amazing. I love this s–t. I’m like, nah, f–k that [being alone]. Next time I’m alone, I’ll be underneath.’”

Despite being married to unarguably the biggest superstar in the NBA, Savannah has kept a low profile. In a previous interview with The Cut, the 39-year-old said she just wanted to enjoy being a mom to their three children while supporting her husband to succeed.

LeBron has, in the past, also reiterated his love for Savannah and thanked her for supporting his career

“Quick letter to my Queen,  Simply just letting you know that I appreciate you more than this world has to offer!! Been my [rock[ holding this sh*t down from the very first jump ball! With all the BS that comes into our lives throughout the years and on the daily you’ve never waved, fluttered or allow yourself to simply not be strong for me, us but more importantly YOU!!” the NBA’s all-time leading scorer wrote in a June 2022 Instagram post.

“Where would I be today w/o you I think to myself quite often. The answer usually comes back to ‘not even close to where you would have wanted to be in life’! This is my appreciation post to you my Queen ???????? because I’m simply letting you and the world know I ain’t sh*t without you! All I need in this life of sin, is me and my girlfriend aka best friend aka wife! Love, King ????”
