Sean Atitsogbe has brilliantly garnered the nickname “Sean The Science Kid.” With the support of his mother, Eunice Atitsogbe, the Lilburn, Georgia native formally launched his YouTube account in 2020 at the age of 6 and has since released videos describing daily science occurrences with genuine curiosity on his YouTube channel, Learning With Sean The Science Kid.

Atitsogbe, who is now 10 years old, has grown his fan base to almost 780,000 on Facebook and Instagram. With over a million views, his initial viral Instagram video from April 2024 showed him preparing breakfast and explaining the science behind why it’s the most significant meal of the day.

The young genius said on Good Morning America that he first developed an early affinity for science as a curious toddler, noting that “science is like 99% curiosity.” He also stated that he appreciates how science “explains the universe.”

His mother, Eunice, informed the outlet that her son is self-taught. She explained, “The things he knows, none of us taught him — either me or Daddy. Nobody sits him down to teach him anything. He teaches himself a lot. So, as parents, we just give him the environment for him to do that.”

“Our intention wasn’t to go viral and go all over the place,” she said, expressing how amazed she was at her son’s sudden fame.

She did, however, urge other parents whose kids had a gift for science or another talent to set good expectations for them.

She advised, “My message to other parents is that we paid attention to our kids because they start demonstrating these gifts at a very young age. So, pay attention to them. As soon as you identify that this child of mine likes this, you as a parent do whatever you can to support the child, to bring that nature and gifts that child has.”

Atitsogbe wants to be a brain and heart surgeon when he grows up and has been accepted as a member of the American Mensa Society.
