Ten Little Indians

It might seem humorous but there’s nothing to laugh about. The rhyme was originally called Ten Little Niggers before it became Ten Little Injuns after complaints of racism. When mystery writer Agatha Christie wrote her 1939 novel, the Ten Little Niggers were her main characters before they were changed to “injuns,” and then eventually to “Indians.” “One little, two little, three little Indians” are the lyrics we sing today, but it still doesn’t make the situation any better.
