President Jonathan Lauds Bilateral Trade Between Nigeria and China

President Goodluck Jonathan on Januray 6 in Nigeria praised the growing cultural, political and economic relations between Nigeria and China. Before an audience that included China's outgoing Ambassador to Nigeria – Mr. Denq Boqing – Jonathan complimented China's support for the reconstruction of Nigeria's transportation infrastructure as well as the development of the country's water and power sectors.

The president stated his hopes that these mutually-beneficial cultural, political and economic relations between Nigeria and China which has increased significantly in the last three years, would be further strengthened in the coming years.

According to President Jonathan, one-third of the volume of trade between Africa and China is currently taking place in Nigeria, and he is urging China ito increase its investments in Nigeria's agriculture sector as well as other sectors where Chinese knowledge and expertise can help maximize nigeria's potential.
