Samuel L. Jackson asks why authorities can’t get billionaires to pay their taxes in fiery interview

In a recent interview with Vulture, veteran award-winning actor Samuel L. Jackson explicitly registered his displeasure over billionaires not paying their taxes, stating that the wealthy meeting those obligations would help solve many things.

The Avengers star went on the “no-holds-barred” rant when he was answering a question about his political activism, per Insider. “I’m 74. I don’t know how much longer I’m going to be around here raising hell or doing what I’m doing. But people need to start understanding that the economic gap is crazy,” the 74-year-old stated.

“I pay an enormous amount of taxes, and it’s fine because I know I should. But why can’t we get billionaires to pay their f**k**g taxes?” he questioned. “If those m****rf**kers paid their taxes we’d solve a whole bunch of sh*t. And they would still be richer than every m****rf**ker walking around them.”

Per Insider, Jackson adds up to many other Americans who share the same sentiments. A survey of 5,000 adult Americans by the Pew Research Center determined 60% of Americans were of the opinion that the wealthy class “don’t pay their fair share” of taxes. Around 61% of people also shared the same opinion about corporations.

As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Jackson – before making it on the big screen – got deeply involved in the civil rights movement while a student at Morehouse College. He also served as an usher at the funeral of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Jackson told Vulture that his past experiences make his “blood boil” when he hears Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan.

“Being a certain age and looking at the world and identifying it for what it is and what it becomes, which is why as soon as I hear ‘Make America Great Again,’ I go, ‘When are we talking about again?'” he asked.

“’Are we talking about back when we had apartheid?’” I grew up in segregation in Tennessee. I went to school with Black kids ‘cause we couldn’t go to school with white kids. I saw Klan marches and Klan rallies. So I know what America used to be. When I hear them say, ‘Let’s make it that again,’ it just makes my blood boil.”

This also isn’t the first time the legendary Hollywood actor and film producer has shared how he feels about Trump. In a 2019 interview with Esquire, Jackson said he would never stop calling the former president out even if he was a garbageman.

“I think we feel the same way that all of the m***erf***ers that hated Obama felt for eight years. So they said all that sh*t. They put f**k**g pictures up on the Internet of Michelle sitting with her legs crossed with a d*ck hanging down. We feel the same way that they feel or they felt about Obama being the man, even though he wasn’t f*ck**g ruining their lives; he was trying to help their lives,” he stated at the time.

“This m***erf***er is like ruining the planet and all kinds of other crazy sh*t. And the people think that’s okay. It’s not f*ck**g okay. And if you’re not saying anything, then you’re complicit.

“And I wouldn’t give a f*ck if I was a garbageman and I had a Twitter account; I’d tweet that sh*t out. I’m not thinking about who I am and what my job is when I do that sh*t.”

Asked if he was concerned about his criticisms of Trump getting on the wrong side of his fans, Jackson said he had nothing to lose.

“I know how many m***erf****rs hate me. ‘I’m never going to see a Sam Jackson movie again.’ F*ck I care? If you never went to another movie I did in my life, I’m not going to lose any money. I already cashed that check. F*ck you. Burn up my videotapes. I don’t give a f*ck,” he said.
