Veteran actor Samuel L. Jackson and basketball legend Magic Johnson are very good friends who are usually spotted vacationing together with their families. And though it may be very challenging to escape the glare of the public during such outings, Jackson, 75, said he found a way to make himself inconspicuous.
The Argylle actor, who appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday, touched on his vacation endeavors with the Los Angeles Lakers legend and how he manages to hide himself when fans want to have a moment with Johnson.
“When COVID was happening, that was kind of like the best for me in a way,” Jackson said, per PEOPLE. “I’d be with Irving. Everybody knows him. He’d take a picture with the worst person on the planet.”
Jackson also explained how he manages to escape taking several photos – which is not Johnson’s case – when Kimmel highlighted that the two friends have annual summer vacations together.
“During COVID I could have my hat, my sunglasses and my mask on and I pretended to be security,” Jackson said. “So I would actually take pictures for other people with him.”
The Avengers actor also said people frequently gave their phones to him to snap a photo of them with his billionaire friend when he was asked if that was the case. “All the time,” he said.
“We have another friend who travels with us, John Palmer. He’s Black and bald so they think he’s me,” he jokingly added. “So he signs a lot of autographs and takes a lot of pictures, too.”
