Aldy Bernard – Dominican Republic
23-year-old Aldy is a self-described multi-tasker. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, and trained as an Accountant. At the same time, she also developed her own candy-making factory called ‘Dulces Dona Ligia’ based on her grandmother’s secret recipes. Born into a political and pioneering family, Aldy was raised in one of Dominican Republic’s smallest agricultural municipalities, Laguna Salada, population 33,000. Her passion for female empowerment and gender equality aims high as Aldy hopes to become her country’s first female president.
