Embattled South African ex-president Jacob Zuma is reported to be planning his 7th marriage to 24-year-old Nonkanyiso Conco from KwaZulu-Natal.

The bride-to-be confirmed to local news portal TimesLive on Friday saying: “Yes‚ we are getting married‚ but that is all I can say. I need to consult before I give any interviews.”

She is reported to be a director of a culture and youth development organisation aimed at protecting the cultural practices of young Zulu women.

Conco will be Zuma’s 4th wife after the marriage as he is currently married to three women: first wife Gertrude Khumalo whom he married in 1973 after he was released from prison; Thobeka Madiba and Gloria Ngema who he married in 2010 and 2012 respectively.

The polygamous ex-president was married to the former African Union Commission chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, a marriage that ended in divorce. He lost his second wife, Kate Mansho, to suicide in 2000.

Zuma separated from his youngest wife Nompumelelo Ntuli whom he married in 2008. She was removed from his house in Nkandla in 2016 after she was accused of infidelity and planning to poison him.

Jacob Zuma resigned as president in February after pressure from his party the African National Congress (ANC). In April, he appeared in a Durban High Court to answer to 16 charges that include fraud‚ corruption and racketeering.

The charges are related to payments which he allegedly received as a bribe to protect French arms company‚ Thint‚ from an investigation into the controversial arms deal in the 1990s.

Zuma served as president since 2009 and he has faced numerous allegations of corruption which he denies. He has also survived several motions of no confidence.
