Cuba
Since the strict travel restrictions between Cuba and the United States were lifted in 2014, there has been a significant increase in their tourism sector.
Though this may seem like a great gateway for an influx of money in the Cuban economy, it may actually be a gesture that can backfire.
Cubans that are actually able to travel abroad will have to save for five months to accumulate money for a passport, amidst other travel expenses.
This can cause an increase in illegal activities and violence, all in attempts for opportunities to leave the island. The authorities need to relook at the economic module to prevent any acts of resistance that may be fuelled by foreign influences.
