These 7 classical African novels should be adapted for film

CHANGES, A LOVE STORY

Till date, Changes remains one of Ama Ata Aidoo’s most popular works. This complex novel with its interesting characters and their ideologies would be a must watch if ever it hits the big screen. The story follows the life of Esi’s desires and needs as an educated woman in Accra in the early 90s and present everyday issues still relevant in today’s society.   This movie should be very easy to adapt for the big screen and could probably interpret better in movie. Written in 1993, the book opens with a note from Ama Ata Aidoo taking back her words of never wanting to write a love story in her career. Changes is a compelling loves story that isn’t exactly a love story.
