Luminous Lagoon, Jamaica
A once popular docking spot during the Jamaican sugar trade era, the warm waters of the lagoon is home to dinoflagellates that glow in the dark at night.
Unlike some other bioluminescence beaches, tourist can swim in the lagoon and have these tiny organisms bounce around their bodies as well as witness them bouncing off plants and fishes.
Situated near the town of Falmouth along the vast marshlands of Trelawny, Luminous Lagoon is regarded as one of the biggest and most exceptional places for visitors to observe this superb event.
