Tia Mowry is diving back into the dating scene with enthusiasm! In an exclusive sneak peek of “Tia Mowry: My Next Act,” the 46-year-old actress takes a bold step by going on a blind date.
When Mowry inquires about her date’s single status, he charmingly tells her, “Dream girls are rare, you’re the dream girl.”
“Aww, my God,” Mowry sighs, flattered by his sweet comments before he continues, “I’m single because people who chase their dreams as tenaciously as you reach and achieve them, [that] don’t fall off a cliff mentally, physically or in any other way where you could technically lose yourself, is rare.”
Mowry, the Sister, Sister alum, gazed lovingly into her date’s eyes, admitting that the evening went perfectly, according to PEOPLE.
“The date went really good,” she says, smiling in a conversation with cameras. “I mean, listen, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, didn’t they go on a blind date? Who knows? I might find my Prince Harry!”
Regardless of the outcome, Mowry says she is happy about taking the first step in finding love again.
“I will say, if he doesn’t call me for a second date, which I am open to, so be it. I’m proud of myself for at least being open enough to go on a blind date,” she says.
Mowry’s return to the dating scene follows her 2023 divorce from Cory Hardrict after 15 years of marriage. The former couple shares two children, daughter Cairo, 6, and son Cree, 13.
In the premiere of “Tia Mowry: My Next Act,” Mowry admitted that dating again is intimidating, as Hardrict had been her “first everything.”
“I wasn’t even allowed to date until I was 18 years old,” she explained in a confessional interview. “I met Cory when I turned 20 and I lost my virginity at 25. There, I said it! And then we got married! Boom!”
Mowry revealed the fear she felt leaving her marriage and expressed frustration over having to maintain a public facade that differed from her private reality.
“I got tired of showing up at events and people thinking that everything was perfect and it wasn’t,” she said. “I’d go home and feel alone.”
“My persona as a celebrity is kinda the girl next door — the white picket fence — and what I didn’t show was what was really going on in my marriage,” she added. “Maybe I was trying to live a fantasy.”
