The recent release of Forbes’ top 10 highest-earning athletes saw an interesting list of legendary sports stars, combined with the refreshing appearance of newcomers whose hard work and skills have earned them a spot on the prestigious listicle.

Cristiano Ronaldo of Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr topped the list with estimated earnings of  $136 million. The second highest-earning athlete was Lionel Messi ($130) of PSG, while Kylian Mbappe came in third with estimated earnings of $120 million.

Forbes calculated the on-field earnings of the athletes using all prize money, salaries, and bonuses earned between May 1, 2022, and May 1, 2023.  The off-field earnings comprise an estimate of sponsorship deals, appearance fees and memorabilia, as well as licensing income for the 12 months leading to May 1, 2023, plus cash returns from any businesses operated by the athletes, based on conversations with industry insiders.

With a combined net worth of $430 million here are the four highest-earning black athletes in the world.
