James Earl Jones…AOL

James Earl Jones

James Earl Jones is the actor and voice actor who’s booming voice is recognizable as soon as it is heard.

He is responsible for the voice behind Darth Vader in the Star Wars film series, Mufasa in The Lion King and the CNN taglines “This is CNN” and “This is CNN International.”

Jones claims that he almost became mute because of his stutter.

After moving with his grandparents to Brethren, Michigan, a teacher helped him to overcome his stuttering. He was quoted in 2010 as saying, “I was a stutterer. I couldn’t talk. So my first year of school was my first mute year, and then those mute years continued until I got to high school.”
