Since 1986, January 21 has been marked as the national hugging day in the U.S. Kevin Zaborney chose the day as it falls between the holidays and Valentine’s Day, when he believed most people are to be in low spirits.
Since then, the day has been observed in America and all over the world to show affection to others. It is also believed that hugging have quite a number of benefits for humans- emotional and physical.
