Sean “Diddy” Combs put his Los Angeles mansion for sale four months after the sprawling property was raided by the Department of Homeland Security following sex trafficking allegations.
Per PEOPLE, the embattled music executive put his 17,000 sq. ft. property for $61.5 million. But it appears the mansion is not attracting any interested buyers, with real estate sources telling the news outlet that it’s because of the property’s history.
As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Combs caused an online stir after authorities claimed they found “more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant” in his Miami and Los Angeles homes during the raids.
Combs is accused of orchestrating “Freak-Offs,” described as elaborate, produced sex performances that he directed, recorded, and sometimes participated in.
“The property itself is stunning, yet it’s clear that the criminal allegations has impacted buyer interest,” the source said. “There has been some overseas curiosity from high-profile international buyers, but no serious offers.”
“It’s already a challenging market with buyers being more cautious in general Coupled with the property’s high profile and recent news, it’s making it a tougher sell,” the source also stated, adding that the only way to get the mansion off the market is to get a buyer willing to look “beyond the headlines.” However, the source said that is “definitely an uphill battle.”
Combs’ property is said to boast of amenities including a two-main story house with a living space covering 17,000 square feet, a 35-seat theater, a gym, and a wine room, per The Los Angeles Times. The property also has a separate 3,000-square-foot building as well as a lagoon-style swimming pool and a grotto.
A source who knows about the sale also previously told PEOPLE that Combs has “lived in Miami as his primary residence for years and always planned to sell the home in L.A. once his daughters grew up and moved out.”
Combs, 55, was arrested by federal agents on September 16 and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs, who entered a not-guilty plea, is being held without bail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. His trial date has been set for May 5, 2025. But the Bad Boy Records founder is additionally facing multiple sexual assault lawsuits.
Combs’ arrest also came after CNN shared a video of him assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura at a Los Angeles hotel in 2016. The rapper and music executive had initially denied allegations of rape and abuse from Cassie. But he later issued an apology on social media after the circulation of the video.
