Veteran Atlanta rapper Jeezy added another feat to his long list of accomplishments after he set a Guinness World Record for the largest orchestra for a hip-hop concert.
Per PEOPLE, Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, set the record during his November 1 TM:101 Live residency show at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The Soul Survivor rapper achieved the feat after he performed with 101 orchestra members.
“This isn’t just a win for me — it’s a moment for the culture, for music, and for Vegas,” Jeezy said in a press release. “Thank you to every musician, every fan, and everyone who believed we could take this all the way. A winner is a dreamer who never gave up!”
The 48-year-old rapper and the Color of Noize Orchestra collaborated during his performance, and he expressed his gratitude to the people who made it possible when he received the award on stage.
“Thank you to all 101 orchestra members, composer Derrick Hodge, musical director Adam Blackstone, DJ Drama, DJ Ace — and most importantly, the fans,” he said.
Besides setting the Guinness World Record, the number of orchestra members who partook in Jeezy’s performance became the largest orchestra, irrespective of genre, to ever perform on a stage in Las Vegas.
Jeezy later took to Instagram to share a video of the title presentation. “It is always been my purpose to motivate and inspire my culture,” he captioned. “Thank you to everyone involved for believing in my vision. Couldn’t have done it without you. This one’s for the books…literally‼️”
“The purpose of life is the life of purpose ⛄” he concluded.
In August, Face2Face Africa reported that Jeezy took to Instagram to shower praises on an Uber driver who drove him from South Carolina to Baltimore for his August 1 concert after his flight was cancelled.

The 48-year-old rapper re-shared a TikTok video of him explaining his 10-hour road journey to his fans on stage and how the Uber driver ensured he did not miss his concert, PEOPLE reported.
“I woke up to my team informing me that all flights to Baltimore and D.C. had been canceled. They then told me that my driver was on his way to pick me up, so we could drive to Baltimore for the next stop on the tour,” Jeezy wrote.
The I Might Forgive… But I Don’t Forget, rapper stated that two hours into their journey, they “hit an object on the highway, puncturing the gas tank and causing fuel to leak everywhere.”
“We pulled over to a small gas station to regroup in SC. My team tried to arrange a jet from South Carolina to Baltimore, but with the flights canceled do [sic] to weather, we weren’t sure if the jet would get us there on time, risking another cancellation,” he added.
“Next, we called an Uber to take us to a rental car location at the airport. When the Uber driver arrived, he quickly loaded our bags and sped off. Eight minutes into the ride, I turned to him and said, ‘Hey, we need to go to Baltimore. ‘I asked how much he’d charge to take us there, and after a moment of consideration, he replied, ‘Let me think about it.’ I assured him that whatever it was, he’d have it.”
Jeezy said the driver did not “hesitate and just kept driving” like a “real one.” “Ten hours later, we arrived in Baltimore just ten minutes before showtime! I told him he made a lot of people happy tonight! Gave him a Snowman Tee and told him he was my guest for the show tonight!”
“Shout out to the real MVP, my Uber driver Tanner! Not all heroes wear capes!” he concluded.
The Uber driver in a TikTok post stated that though he did not think his encounter with Jeezy would go viral, he said it was “kind of cool.”
“Big thank you to Jeezy. He was super cool. Very nice dude, genuine guy,” the driver also said.
