During the London premiere of Wicked on November 18, 2024, Cynthia Erivo lost a conspicuous sculptural black hat. But the 38-year-old British-Nigerian actress and singer could soon get that hat back as a fan who found it agreed to return the accessory to her.
Per PEOPLE, the fan, identified as Clara, disclosed the news to Erivo in a November 8 video she posted on TikTok.
“For real?” Erivo, who was visibly startled, said. “You have the hat? Oh, my God!”
Clara also showed Erivo a photo of the hat and a different one of herself wearing it. “I have it in my house! I don’t have it on me,” she told Erivo.
“May I have it back, please? I thought I had lost it forever,” Erivo said as her team made efforts to get Clara’s contact details. “Oh my goodness, you’re a lifesaver.”

In a different TikTok video, Clara explained that she found the hat during the London premiere of Wicked, which Erivo stars in. She stated that she found the hat after she returned to the theatre to look for some friends after the movie ended.
She disclosed that she was initially unaware the hat belonged to Erivo, and she ultimately took it home before it was disposed of by workers at the theatre.
“Two days ago, that was the first time that I’ve met her, and that’s literally it,” Clara stated. “I told her I have the hat, her team contacted me, and I think that’s it.”
“I kept the hat for a year and I just wanted to tell her myself and I didn’t know how to get a hold of her,” she added. “She’s getting the hat back today. I put it in this lovely bag and I’m giving it back.”
