During a recent interview with PEOPLE, legendary actor Eddie Murphy shared some details about his marriage to Australian model Paige Butcher and how he behaves as a husband.

Murphy, 64, stated that though he has had a remarkable life and career spanning nearly five decades, he’s more laid back as a husband

“I think I’m really simple,” he said in reference to his behavior as a husband. “Really simple. You’d have to ask Paige, but I think I’m really easy to figure out.”

Because of that, the Coming to America star said Butcher does not even have to rack her brain to determine where he is.

“You always know where I am. Just literally, you could ask Paige. You say, ‘Where’s Eddie at?’ And she could go, ‘It’s this time, so he’s probably in this room, and he’s watching such and such.’ I’m like that. I’m really easy. I’m a lot like a cat,” he stated.

Murphy and Butcher tied the knot in 2024 after they became romantically involved in 2012. Murphy is a father of ten, and he shares two of them with Butcher. In his new documentary, Being Eddie, the 64-year-old is occasionally seen in the company of his family and children, PEOPLE reported.

“It just happened,” Murphy said in reference to fathering ten children. “I never knew I would have 10 kids, but now it’s the best thing ever. If you can afford that many kids, you should have as many kids as you can afford. That is fun.”

He also emphasized that his children are “all decent people.” “I don’t have one rotten one, and I would like to think that they got some of that from me,” he added.

When the Beverly Hills Cop was asked about what brings him joy, he said, “Just being Eddie. I love having my family around, and I love that I’ve been in this amazing business for so long. Coming from super humble beginnings and having this longevity, just to be around and see all the different changes and all that stuff. There’s just so much to be happy about.”
