Famous for his role in the movie series, Blade, Wesley Snipes is regarded as one of the best actors of the 20th century. Born in Orlando, Florida in 1962, Wesley moved to the Bronx, New York where he spent most of his formative years.
His passion for acting was evident from a tender age and it dragged him into enrolling into a Martial Art school at the age of 12. Despite his young age, Wesley Snipes earned a 5th Dan Black Belt in Shotokan Karate and 2nd dan black belt in Hapkido. His ability to act did not stop him from pursuing other ventures as he branched into directing, film production and authoring books.
He has played prominent roles in hit movies including; New Jack City in 1991, White Men Can’t Jump (1992), Passenger (1992), Demolition Man (1993), and the Marvel Comics character Blade in the Blade film trilogy (1998–2004).
In 2010, Snipes began serving a three-year prison sentence in McKean County, Pennsylvania for misdemeanour failure to file U.S. federal income tax returns. He was released from prison in 2013.
