5 reasons Yahya Jammeh should be in prison and not on vacation

Yaya Jammeh’s $ 3.5 million Potomac, Maryland mansion

Theft and corruption

The former president had stolen more than $50 million from the state, according to the country’s justice minister. He had also been accused of going away with more than $11 million and a number of luxury vehicles when he left the country in 2017.

The president had collected a lot of wealth over the years through unscrupulous means, including accessing money meant for the Yahya Jammeh Foundation for his personal use.
