Julie Mehretu (Ethiopian)

Julie Mehretu is an Ethiopian-born contemporary artist known for her thickly coated non figurative paintings and prints. With her large-scale drawings and paintings, she displays a unique technique of layering a wide range of elements and media. Currently she resides in New York City where she runs a studio. Her most popular artwork is Mogamma: A Painting in Four Parts.
