Endangered species that would suffer if DR Congo opens its national parks to oil drilling

Forest Elephants

The Congo basin is also home to the forest elephant, a sub-species of the African elephant.  Although they are big, they are relatively smaller compared to their savannah counterparts.  They are slowly becoming one of Africa’s endangered species due to the demand for ivory in international markets.
