Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria 

Sanusi was appointed the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria in June 2009 by President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

The Nigerian senate affirmed his appointment on June 3, 2009, during the global financial crisis.
