She is the founder of the Sisters Club
Ramla’s experience as a female boxer in a male-dominated sport led her to start the Sisters Club. When she first started boxing, most gyms she trained in did not even have changing rooms for women.
Understanding how sports can empower women, she decided to set up a club designed for women in 2018. The project was first targeted at giving Muslim women a chance to learn; however, today, it is open to all women.
Her club has matured into a global community that stretches from its original location in London, to the U.S and also to Paris. In an interview with Elle, she explained that “The club allows women to train in a safe space, free of men, and creates a bond of sisterhood as a result.”
