Authorities in Memphis said a man suffered a graze on his left thigh after his dog allegedly shot him while he was in bed. According to FOX13 Memphis, the incident occurred at a home on Whitney Avenue near Thomas Street in the early hours of Monday.
Officers who responded to the scene spoke with a man who told them that his dog hopped on the bed before its paw got stuck in the trigger guard and ultimately hit the trigger. The man said he and a woman were on the bed at the time of the shooting.
“While relaxing/talking, the victim’s dog jumped on the bed and got his paw stuck in the trigger guard and ended up hitting the trigger. The victim was then grazed in his top left thigh,” the Memphis Police Department said.
In the wake of the shooting, the woman who was in bed with the victim took the gun and made her way out of the home. A shell casing was found by the responding officers. The woman in question later spoke with the news outlet and identified the dog as a pit bull called Oreo.

In another previous dog news, Face2Face Africa in 2024 reported that the internet went wild when a video of a barking canine appeared on top of Egypt’s Great Pyramid of Giza. The moment was captured by a man paragliding over the Egyptian landmark.
When Marshall Mosher zoomed in on the top of the pyramid as he flew in a paramotor above the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the World, he was shocked to see the dog leisurely going about its day.
Mosher wrote in the top caption of the post, “A dog climbed all the way up the Great Pyramid of Giza! Do you think he lives up there?” The clip immediately went viral, garnering over 9000 likes. His comments were flooded with jokes and speculations.
