MUSIGA presidential inauguration scheduled for Sept. 8The Official Inauguration of the new MUSIGA President, Mr. Bice Osei Kuffour (Obour) will be held at the MUSIGA Headquarters in Accra on Thursday, September 8, 2011. It will mark the end of Madam Diana Hopeson’s Administration and the beginning of Obour’s term of office.

Activities to honor the new President of the Musicians Union of Ghana include the official swearing-in/handing-over ceremony, Inaugural (media) Address, Inaugural Reception, courtesy call on the National Chief Imam and Thanksgiving Services, as scheduled below:

1. Friday, August 26, 2011- COURTESY CALL ON NATIONAL CHIEF IMAM
2. Sunday, August 28, 2011: THANKSGIVING SERVICE -WINNERS CHAPEL, GH. (7am)
3. Thursday, September 8, 2011 (11am to 1pm): INAUGURATION CEREMONY
4. Thursday, September 8, 2011 (1:15 to 2pm): INAUGURAL ADDRESS (First Media Briefing)
5. Friday, September 9, 2011 (6pm till late): INAUGURAL RECEPTION
6. Sunday, September 11, 2011- INAUGURAL CHURCH SERVICE

[NB: Item/Schedule (4) will be Mr. Bice Osei Kuffour’s first news conference as Musiga President]

Expected at the ceremony would be members of the past and present MUSIGA Administration, top political personalities, Corporate Ghana, musicians, entertainment industry personalities and opinion leaders, the Media and the general public.

The official theme for the inauguration will be “Kick-Starting the Rebranding Agenda”, part of the main theme “Rebranding Musiga and Making Musicians Wealthy; a vision to underscore the Obour Administration's commitment to restoring opportunities for all musicians.

Obour added: “Talk time is over; it’s time to put our shoulder to the wheel; and I can’t wait to formally introduce my Team for the job”.

Meanwhile, Obour wishes to use this opportunity to thank, first and foremost, the Almighty God for a successful Congress and: “thanks to the ex-President and her Administration for giving me the opportunity to serve as National Youth Organizer; and finally to MUSIGA Presidential aspirants, Mr. Gyedu Blay Amboulley, Mr. Nana Tuffour and Mr. Willie Roi for their contribution to strengthening democracy in the Union”, Obour said.
