MAVADO, SAMINI TO ROCK GHANAACCRA, 29st August 2011 – Top-selling Jamaican dance-hall artiste Mavado will be storming Ghana in October for a grand music concert.

Scheduled for Accra on 1st October 2011, the organizers, Fantasy Entertainment in collaboration withSamini Music, are stopping at nothing to ensure that they deliver a one-of-its-kind concert.

Mavado will headline and share the stage with Samini “the dancehall pillar of Africa” and will be backedby impressive selection of local artistes who will ensure back-to-back performances all night.

Fantasy Entertainment is noted for the highly impressive Rick Ross concert that shook the foundationsof the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre early this year, and has promised a re-enactment of the flair and quality that came with their first event.

The 2006 MOBO winner for Best African Artiste and 2009 MTV Africa Artiste of the year, Samini haspromised to give out his all for this concert. “This is what I like doing best; exhibiting the real Saminiwhen a big platform presents itself. And playing alongside the undoubted current king of his genre, I canonly say you've not seen anything until you see my surprise act on October 1”, says Samini.

Accra will definitely come alive on the 1st October 2011. More info will be released in the coming weeks.

MAVADO

Born David Constantine Brooks, Mavado also known as The Real McKoy, Gully God, Gangsta Fi Life andStulla, is famed all over the world for his exceptional mastery of the genre. His style is heavily influenced by the likes of Bounty Killer and 2Pac.

His debut single, “Real McKoy” on the Anger Management riddim in 2004, provided him instant success. He further established himself with the follow-up record “Weh Dem a Do”, on the Red Bull & Guinness riddim. After a string of hits in 2005 and 2006, Mavado released the album Gangsta for Life: The Symphony of David Brooks on July 10, 2007 on VP Records. "Whe Dem A Do" and "Dying", two of the singles from the album, were featured heavily on R&B/hip-hop radio in New York.

In 2008 Mavado was given the prestigious UK MOBO Award for Best Reggae Act. In April 2010, he starred as a gangster in Drake's song ‘Find Your Love’. 'The Messiah', 'On the Rock', 'House Top', ''So Blessed', 'The Thump, 'Wat Dem a Do' are just a few of his big hits. Mavado formed his own label, Mansion Records, in 2011, debuting with the single “Delilah”. This year he recorded with U.K. hip-hop artist Chipmunk on the track “Every Gyal”. The track is receiving rave reviews across key charts all over the world.

SAMINI
Emmanuel Andrews Samini, born 22 December 1981 in Accra, Ghana, and known in show business as Samini is Ghana's biggest music star at the present time. He hails from Wa in the northern part of Ghana. His genre of music is a melodious mixture of highlife, dancehall, reggae and hip-hop. He terms his brand of music as the “African dancehall”.

His debut album, Dankwasere released in 2004, topped the local music charts for weeks and won two awards at the Ghana Music Awards. The track Linda from the album was a popular hit. He has shared the stage alongside Sean Paul, Akon, Kevin Little, Shaggy, Wayne Wonder, Damien Marley, Bennie Man, Jay-Z, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Culture (of Blessed Memory) and Steel Pulse. He collaborated with Steel Pulse and Etana from Jamaica. He has received international recognition and played major gigs throughout Africa and in the UK, German, Italy, Canada, Holland and the U.S.A.

He was selected to perform as one of the main African Artistes at the opening and closing ceremony during the first World Cup staged in Africa- South Africa 2010. He received international recognition when he was nominated and won the best African Act at the MOBO Awards in the United Kingdom in September 2006. His self-titled second album (Samini) for which he won three awards at the 2007 Ghana Music Awards, in February 2008, also won for him the Best African Artist Award at the Hip Hop World Awards in Nigeria.

His third album, Dagaati, was released in 2008 and produced such hit songs as ‘Where My Baby Dey’, Music’ and ‘Odo’. His fourth album, titled CEO released in November 2010 has hits Trigger, Sweet Mistake and Tempo. On July 25, 2011, Samini released his first single, titled Pappistic (a High Grade Family Riddim) off his yet-to-be-released 2011-2012 album.He is one of the main brand icons of the biggest telecom company in Ghana, MTN.
