Having also experienced the end of apartheid in South Africa, Hugo was delighted to see a new generation that appreciates the diversity of life and shuns the heavy burdens of racism and tribalism that have entangled previous generations for many years.
Hugo uses unique portraits of children born during the Rwandan genocide in 1994 and at the end of Apartheid in South Africa to tell a story of hope that is much different than the usual gory images of violence and devastation. His portraits are being displayed for the first time at Stevenson Gallery in Cape Town, South Africa.
