Embattled rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is once again making headlines, this time over allegations of sexual assault involving a male street performer.
In a newly filed lawsuit, Combs is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a man in 2022. The case was filed by attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents multiple individuals alleging abuse by the hip-hop icon.
According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff—identified as “John Doe”—claims he was “drugged and forcefully raped” by Combs, as detailed in a filing with the New York County Supreme Court. The alleged incident took place in November 2022 after Doe was scouted while performing on the streets outside a “popular nightclub” in Los Angeles.
Described in the suit as a “young musician,” Doe alleges that an associate of Combs invited him to an “exclusive A-list birthday party” at a private residence, where he was introduced to the Bad Boy Records founder. The lawsuit further claims that Combs offered Doe a drugged drink and made multiple promises about helping him secure a major recording contract.
“Incapacitated from the drugs,” Doe was “forcefully coerced” into performing oral sex before being raped, according to the lawsuit. The filing states, “Because of Combs’ power and notoriety, and because he was shocked and embarrassed, Doe did not report what had happened.”
Doe is seeking a jury trial and financial compensation for “physical injuries, emotional distress, psychological harm, anxiety, humiliation, pain and suffering, and other damages,” with the amount to be determined at trial.
Despite the serious accusations, Combs’ legal team has strongly denied the claims.
“As we’ve said before, Mr. Combs cannot respond to every new publicity stunt, even in response to claims that are facially ridiculous or demonstrably false,” his legal team said in a statement. “Mr. Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr. Combs never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone—man or woman, adult or minor.”
Currently, Combs remains in jail after multiple bond denials. He is scheduled to stand trial on May 5 for separate sex trafficking and racketeering charges, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
