South to North
It may be the longest river in the world, but one thing that makes the River Nile mysterious is its water channel. While most waterways flow from north to south, the Nile defies nature’s routine to flow from south to north. It originates from Lake Victoria, which is shared among Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya; runs through Sudan, Ethiopia, and Egypt to empty into the Mediterranean Sea, which borders Africa to the north. The Nile is estimated to be 4258 kilometers long.
