Several rappers have shared stories about how they could have taken different career paths before eventually settling on their respective professions. Sexyy Red recently added her name to that list.

During a recent interview with Dazed, the Fat Juicy & Wet rapper revealed she could have been a professional wrestler as the WWE offered her a permanent contract. She, however, said that time constraints prevented her from having adequate training, so she opted to take a cameo role.

In May 2024, the 26-year-old Missouri rapper, born Janae Nierah Wherry, made an appearance at a WWE NXT event. She also shared a backstage video of her and WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels vibing to his Sexy Boy theme song.

The SkeeYee rapper in her interview drew similarities between wrestling and rapping. “Rapping and wrestling are pretty much the same,” she stated.

“It’s not quite acting, but it’s kind of acting too, right? Because when we go home and take off all our jewels and gold and remove the costumes we wear, we then have to go right back to reality with our families.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Sexyy Red was asked what she was going to do if she instantly woke up and was given the mandate as president of the United States.

“I would give all the hungry poor people free food, so they don’t have to steal it no more, because it’s too expensive right now. Food should be free! No one should ever be homeless,” she stated.

The 26-year-old added: “The people at the bottom are my favourite kind of people, period. I like people that wear True Religion jeans, even though they’re [seen as being] too ghetto. I’ve got like 600 pairs! I represent the people with no airs and graces.”
