Don’t you go knocking on that door
14-year-old Brennan Walker of Rochester, Michigan got lost on his way to school and decided to ask for directions. He happened to land on the doorstep of Jeffrey Craig Ziegler, 53. After Walker knocked on Ziegler’s door, he was accused of trying to rob Ziegler and his wife and subsequently shot at. As reported by The Root.
Luckily, Walker escaped unharmed.
Walker and Ziegler were both questioned at the local police station; Ziegler lied about the sequence of events as was evidenced by the viewing of a surveillance taping.
Ziegler was charged with assault with intent to murder and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, held on $50,000 bond and later in a court appearance, ordered to stay away from Walker.
He was released last Friday.
Ziegler is due back to court on April 24 and is at risk of spending life in prison.
