Last year, a U.K.-based think tank called “Intelligent Community Forum” named Nairobi as the most-intelligent city in Africa. The forum said its decision was informed by the city’s tenacity in embracing technology and innovation. Kenya — and Nairobi in particular — is the pioneer of mobile money technology, which is setting future trends in mobile money transfer across the world. In addition, big multinational companies, such as Google, Nokia, Airtel, and more have set their African headquarters in Nairobi.
