Veteran Houston rapper and philanthropist Trae Tha Truth is asking for public assistance in finding his missing 6-year-old daughter after the minor’s mother allegedly absconded with her.
Per TMZ, Trae Tha Truth, whose real name is Frazier Othel Thompson III, has full custody of his daughter Truth. But he said the last time he saw her was four months ago, adding that his daughter’s mother had taken her to a place he was not privy to.
The I’m On rapper told the news outlet that he was executing his civic duty and playing his role as a parent when he took his daughter to her mother’s Houston home for a two-day visit in August.
But he said he has since not seen Truth because the minor’s mother has been taking her to and fro multiple homes. The 44-year-old also said his daughter’s mother has been doing that with the help of Truth’s grandmother and other individuals.
Trae Tha Truth said the situation has negatively affected him, particularly because he has primary custody of Truth. He also accused his daughter’s mother of bringing “bogus” police charges against him.
The 44-year-old additionally said that if gender roles were switched and he was the one who took off with his daughter, he’d come under public scrutiny. He has since advised anyone who sees her daughter not to attempt to take her physically or ruffle her mother’s feathers.
Trae Tha Truth opened up about his situation after he took to Instagram to share multiple posts on his feelings about not seeing his daughter for months.
“Hardest thing on earth For A Father Who will Give his life for his kids is to Try to Focus…. (Truth) I Know You Need Me Like I Need You….,” he wrote in one of his posts alongside a photo of his daughter.
“On one hand I sit locked away to myself in a Dark place & on tha other hand your brothers and many others need me to not give up and keep pushin and Do things God place me to do, Tha Truth Is Me Stayin busy only helps Pain Temporarily… This time i have to completely let go and Trust God… I cant Lie.. Its Hard…[broken heart emoji] No matter what happens, Yo Daddy Never Gave Up…”
