Fan-shaped style of the Zande, Democratic Republic of Congo
The fan-shaped style of the Zande, Democratic Republic of Congo was mostly worn by wives of the Zande rulers south of Bomokandi. Coming up with such a hairdo involved braiding one’s own hair together with strands in the shape of a disc. It was a style which depicted true African beauty and feminine power.
