Watch: Beyoncé Was Bullied As A Child-Tina Knowles Discloses

Swazi activists Thursday criticized South Africa's decision to grant the kingdom a $355-million bailout, saying the deal offers no guarantees that King Mswati III will follow through on democratic reforms. The 2.4-billion-rand ($355-million) loan requires Mswati, Africa's last absolute monarch, to open "dialogue" on political reforms in the tiny landlocked kingdom teetering on the verge of financial collapse. But the deal announced Wednesday by South African Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan does not say who should be included in the dialogue, neither did it set out concrete steps for Mswati to move toward democracy.

Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles has said that throughout her daughter’s early years, the celebrity faced bullying on a regular basis.

The entrepreneur spoke candidly about teaching her girls to value their uniqueness despite attempts to crush their hearts.

“Beyoncé, she was very shy. She got bullied a bit. The day that she stood up for someone … she didn’t stand up for herself, she stood up for them. I’m getting emotional talking about it. I couldn’t have been more proud of her,” she stated.

She continued by revealing that Solange, her youngest daughter and Grammy-winning artist, had “always been an activist” and often approached people to get signatures on petitions. Kelly Rowland, Beyoncé’s closest friend and former bandmate from Destiny’s Child, is remembered by Knowles as a “little peacemaker” in her early years.

“Kelly was always this kid that tried to protect everybody. But all so special. I believe kids are born with their personalities. My three girls All handled things very differently. Learn their personalities and respect their individuality,” she continued.

Beyoncé has become a mother herself, as Ms. Tina has assumed the position of grandma to her 12-year-old Blue Ivy and her 6-year-old twins, Sir and Rumi, whom she shares with Jay-Z. This indicates that the singer is teaching her own kids the same things that Knowles taught her years ago, such as how important it is to ignore negative people and concentrate on your work.
