US sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson left many on social media in awe after she accepted a 100m challenge from a four-year-old girl whose mom was hired to capture content for her before the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The four-year-old girl named Teagan was not laid back by the pressure after meeting Richardson and was confident to request a race from the Paris Olympics gold medalist.
In an Instagram post, Pierre said: “My biggest confidence as Teagan’s mom: instilling confidence in her to speak up for what she wants and needs no matter what( even if it grates my nerves). As women, especially black women, our voices are RARELY heard, our wants are rarely catered to and our needs are typically go unmet, so I teach her to speak with confidence and assertiveness”.
Teagan’s confidence as a four-year-old stunned Richardson, who also made sure to run the race at the pace of the little girl, leaving the lots on social media amazed by the heartwarming gesture.
Sha’Carri allowed Teagan to win the race but her generous gesture towards the four-year-old girl is one that many now consider as one of the heartwarming moments on the internet this year.
Pierre concluded the video post by encouraging young black women to be positive, always confident and to stand for what they believe in, insisting that it would go a long way to bring in expected results.
