Today, I signed into law the Alabama Human Life Protection Act. To the bill’s many supporters, this legislation stands as a powerful testament to Alabamians’ deeply held belief that every life is precious & that every life is a sacred gift from God. https://t.co/DwKJyAjSs8 pic.twitter.com/PIUQip6nmw

The new law has been described as the nation’s most restrictive abortion legislation under the Alabama Human Life Protection Act.
Passed on Wednesday, May 15, the law includes a ban on abortion in cases of rape or incest and a possible life imprisonment sentence for doctors who perform abortions. The bill has been highly criticized by people in the U.S. however their complaint has since gone unheard. Alabama’s 35-seat Senate is dominated by men, and none of its four female senators backed the ban.
Rihanna’s post which has gained over a million likes and 40,000 comments in a matter of 3 hours has gotten people talking about the new abortion ban and has led other famous people to add their voice against the new law.
Don’t move forward after reading this like everything is normal. Don’t shake your head at Alabama and then keep going about your day. Realize that this is a warning. It’s Alabama and abortion today. It’s you and your rights tomorrow. Your silence will not save you. So speak up. https://t.co/kIz78uAU1T

When will Alabama start prosecuting parents who won’t pay court ordered support? Shouldn’t those parents be charged with child neglect, abuse, and abandonment? 10-99 years in prison sounds like a good sentence.

Watching our own government be immune to our experience, and the social temperature regarding abortion is another fatal failure for humanity. This is deadly.— h (@halsey) May 16, 2019
At the Governor’s Mansion last night to tell #briankemp that abortion is a human right and we hold him accountable. #HB481 will not stand. AAPI women & girls fight back, because we are determined to win our agency, autonomy, dignity, and liberation. Love, some #PissedOffPeaches pic.twitter.com/UfvSb8abeT
